Homemade Yogurt
Servings: 8 pints
Ingredients:
- 1 gallon of milk
- 1 cup dried milk powder
- 1 cup plain/starter yogurt (make sure it has active cultures) or 1 cup from a previous batch
Instructions:
- Bring milk to a boil in a big pot.
- Whisk in milk powder and starter yogurt.
- Put in oven with the oven light on – you can pour into a different container if you want.
- Leave in the oven for at least 6 hours - up to 12 hours.
- Take out when firm, cover tightly and store in refrigerator.
- You can use this yogurt to make the next batch.
